ENGAGE HELP CENTER
Project activity settings
This guide will be your assistant in choosing the activity settings most suitable for your project.
Activity settings let you decide on where the activity will appear, who will be able to see and complete it, as well as set up the Wehbook configuration if necessary.
Where this activity will appear?
Administrator is required to make a choice on where the activity will be displayed. The activity can either be Visible on the project timeline or accessible Only via link making it otherwise not accessible. The decision on the visibility of the activity should be made in combination with the access setting choice described below.
Who will see this activity?

Unauthorised participants
The administrator can make the activity either be accessible to unauthorised participants which will make it completely anonymous without any option for the administrator to later approach and follow-up with the participants, address them anonymously, engage them in future initiatives, find correlations between their repeated submissions.

In this case, all participants of the activity will be assigned the same Participant ID number.
This is an example of how the activity will look for the unauthorised participants.
This is a visualization of how the participant responses will be visible to the administrator when choosing the access option Unauthorised participants.
Only authorised participants
The administrator can opt to make the activity available for Only authorised participants, which will mean that such participants' profile data as their email address, for example, will be collected as they will be registered users on the Engage platform.
Combinations of project participants' profile data gathering and activity access settings

Combination 1: Project setting "I will use full data of participants' profiles" + Activity setting "Only authorised participants"
In this case the administrator will be able to see participants' profile details, for example, their e-mail addresses, and will be able to engage them in consecutive activities.
NB! The participants will be required to log into Engage to submit their responses.

Combination 2: Project setting "I will use anonymised data about participants" + Activity setting "Only authorised participants"
The administrator will be able to see only unique Participant ID numbers, but they will also be able to engage the participants in consecutive activities via contacting support@longenesis.com.
NB! The participants will be required to log into Engage to submit their responses.

Combination 3: Project setting "I will use anonymised data about participants" + Activity setting "Unauthorised participants"
This combination of settings will make the participation completely anonymous and will not give the administrator the chance to follow-up with the participants, address them, engage them in consecutive actions or initiatives.
NB! The participants will not be required to log into Engage to submit their responses.
If the access settings of the activity are changed, possible changes in the Public sharing link need to be kept in mind.

When changing the access settings of an activity from Unauthorised participants to Only authorised participants and vice versa, the Public sharing links have to be double checked and updated in the dissemination materials, as well.
For example, if the administrators opt to disseminate the link of a specific activity instead of the whole project flow and the access settings of the activity are changed from authorisation (Only authorised participants) to anonymous (Unauthorised participants), the Public sharing link of the said survey will change and no longer include a link to the project itself. So, in case of any setting changes, it is advisable to re-source, double-check and test the Public sharing links, as well.

Who can complete this activity?

This section allows the administrator to control the functionality of registering participant activity submissions about participants authorised on Engage by the administrator themselves.
Read more about Registering participant activity submissions.
Webhook configuration

The section Webhook configuration allows the administrator to create a setup to send the submitted activity responses to a webhook of their choice.
